The Women’s International Network for Disaster Risk Reduction (WIN DRR) aims to empower women and enhance their role in decision-making in disaster risk reduction in the Asia-Pacific region by promoting and supporting women’s leadership. The 2022 WIN DRR Leadership Awards were awarded at the Asia Pacific Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction, recognising the achievements of women working in disaster risk reduction across the Asia-Pacific region. A total of 420 nominations from 24 countries were received, with 12 finalists shortlisted in the Rising Star category and 15 for the Excellence Award category.

This 90-minute roundtable discussion will be an informal networking opportunity for WIN DRR members, where they can hear more about the work of the finalists and share with each other. Recognising the diversity of contexts across the Asia-Pacific region the roundtable discussion will provide an opportunity to connect with and learn from each other.
