German Study Centre in Yogyakarta

Abstract
Collaboration and partnership between Gadjah Mada University and Universities in Germany formally and informally have been done since years ago. Some of them are Karlsruhe University, Stuttgart University, Oldenburg University, Giessen University, Berlin University and many others. Besides, Gadjah Mada Universities has maintained relations with various other German organisations.
Such as partnerships and cooperations with the German Academic Exchange Service (Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst, DAAD), Germanys Technical Cooperation Agency (Gesellschaft fuer Technische Zusammenarbeit, GTZ) and Germanys Research Agency (Deutsche Forschungsgesellschaft, DFG) and many others.
So far, there have been a lot of activities and programs such stadium general presented by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Dr. h.c. mult Franz Nestmann, Prof. Dr. sc.agr. Dieter Prinz, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Norbert Einsenhouer, Prof. Dr. Steinbach and many others.
In addition, Rector and Vice Rector IV had return visit to several universities in Germany. Also, German Parliament Members and the minister of education and research Mrs. Edelgard Buhlmann visit to Gadjah Mada on Maret 18. 2005 to meet Alumni of German Universities in Gadjah Mada University and ask what their contribution towards community in Indonesia.
The activities and programs done by German Studies Centre have great prospect in the future. Thus, it needs to be encouraged and supported so that It improves the quality of its programs and activities for betterment and sustainable cooperation.
The vision of the German Study Centre is to create and maintain a conducive COLLABORATION on RESEARCHES, COURSES, TRAININGS, INDUSTRIAL ACTIVITIES and CULTURE between Gadjah Mada University-Indonesia and Germany.
