The United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific (ROAP) and the Asian and Pacific Centre for the Development of Disaster Information Management (APDIM) of ESCAP is organizing a joint panel discussion on Disaster Risk Data Governance and Policy Design. This panel discussion will take place during ESCAP Disaster Resilience Week on 26 July 2023, from 12:30 to 13:45 in Meeting Room F (MR-F), ESCAP, Bangkok.
Description
The panel discussion aims to provide a platform for key stakeholders, including policymakers, practitioners, international organizations, academic institutions, and other relevant entities, to come together and discuss the crucial role of robust data governance and policy design in addressing disaster risks. By jointly convening this panel discussion, UNDRR and APDIM seek to foster collaboration, knowledge sharing, and the formulation of actionable recommendations to strengthen disaster risk data governance and policy design at global, regional, and national levels.
The panel discussion will focus on key themes such as data collection and management, data sharing and accessibility, policy frameworks and strategies, and capacity development. Through interactive panel discussions, presentations, and knowledge-sharing sessions, participants will have the opportunity to contribute their expertise, experiences, and best practices in the field of disaster risk reduction.
